Dr. Mary Swanson joined North Sound Family Medicine in October of 2008. She was raised in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Swanson obtained her undergraduate degree in philosophy from Seattle University. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Washington Medical School and completed her family medicine residency at Swedish Family Medicine in Seattle, where she was chief resident. She is trained in the full range of medicine, including obstetrics and pediatrics, with an emphasis on preventive care and health screening. She is board certified in Family Medicine.

Dr. Swanson loves living in the Pacific Northwest and enjoys outdoor activities of all kinds, especially hiking, downhill skiing and running. She is a voracious reader of all genres and an avid traveler with her husband, Dr. Kurt Swanson, who practices dentistry in Barkley Village.
